1. Marinate the Beef 🥩:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  • Add the sliced beef and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes (or overnight in the fridge for deeper flavor).

2. Caramelize the Onions & Sauté the Mushrooms 🍄🧅:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes until golden and caramelized.
  • Add the mushrooms and butter to the skillet, cooking for another 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and balsamic vinegar (if using), cooking for an additional minute. Season with salt & pepper to taste. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

3. Cook the Beef 🍳:

  • In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and heat over medium-high.
  • Add the marinated beef and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

4. Prepare the Noodles & Sauce 🍜:

  • Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and sriracha (if using).

5. Combine & Toss 🍲:

  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, along with the caramelized onions, mushrooms, and beef.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the top and toss everything together, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.

6. Garnish & Serve 🌿:

  • Serve hot, garnished with green onions, sesame seeds, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro or parsley if desired.

🍽️ Serving Suggestions:

  • This dish pairs well with a side of steamed vegetables 🥦 or a simple cucumber salad 🥒.
  • Add a fried egg 🍳 on top for an extra indulgent touch!

📝 Recipe Tips:

  • Tender Beef: Slice your beef against the grain for the most tender bites.
  • Vegetarian Option: Replace beef with tofu or tempeh and use vegetable broth for a plant-based version.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet for best results.
